My name is Sanam, and I am the grateful owner of this store.

I was born and grew up in the colorful and vivid city of Karachi, a city once dubbed ‘the City of Lights’, known for its lively people. I then moved and stayed in the mysterious yet beautiful desert of the Persian Gulf until we found a home in Virginia surrounded by lush green landscapes and immense natural beauty.

The Black Swan Studio is the collection of my aesthetic experiences collected while traveling through those cultures. I began as a hobbyist and helped friends and family with their home décor projects and kids' clothing. Along the way, I realized that I had something special when it came to putting fabrics together, and I loved the adorable creations I was making. Hence the idea of this store was born. I established this store in early 2020 during the pandemic, while COVID-19 pandemic is reshaping the world. I decided to channel my love for designs and colors through stitches and threads.
